Hello,
I've had my guinea pigs for just over 2 years now, and I was told not to give them lettuce but then some people say that you can and I don't want to risk it! Any help would be much appreciated.

Well, lettuces which are feed able (iceberg lettuce is not feedable) are high in calcium, which is not ideal. So lettuce is a good idea to only be fed a couple of times a week, in smallish portions. I do not feed any lettuce at all. As my piggies are on a special diet designed to prevent bladder sludge and cystitis. This diet consists of:

Twice a day per pig:
1 slice cucumber
1 sprig coriander
1 slice spring greens
2 pieces celery
1 green bean
1 piece green pepper

Of course not everyone uses this diet, but it is proven to help prevent what is mentioned above. :)

Thank you, I have never given my guinea pigs sprig coriander before! I shall have to try it
