Guinea Pig Found

Hi

Hope I've put this is the correct section.

My sister went to work this morning opened the shutter's and between the walk way and path was a very small guinea pig.
The guinea pig has probably been abandoned as it has lots of scars on it's body and fur missing.
This is very sad, how can people just abandoned them especially when snow is around and cold temperatures.
People are so mean.

It is beyond me why people do that sort of thing. Have you got the wee mite at the moment? do you think the missing hair and scabs could be mites?

Poor thing.

Yes we've got the guinea pig at the moment and contacted the vet and used ivermectin in case of mites.

Taking to vets tomorrow for check over.

Sadly, you are not the only case - it is a frightnening thought how many people will just abandon their pets to fate in this cold weather, just because the "Christmas present" is not welcome or a "better" pet is in the pipeline!

Well done for helping him and how is he doing? :))

It makes me so mad when i read of people who just abandon animals, there are lots of rescues out there and there is no need to just leave the animal fending for themselves.

oh the poor thing well done for taking it in,let us know how piggie gets on.believe me i know how you feel i had 2 baby pigs dumped on my doorstep xmas eve!
 
Glad you are helping the guinea - good he is safe now.

I found one once left in a carrier bag in the gully by our house went to -4 that night just glad I found her.

Hope the vets visit goes ok:)
 
Another sad story. Such a shame. This is the correct section if you are going to rehome your little piggy, you can post photos here and hopefully someone may come forward as a new home. Otherwise perhaps a mod could move this to the chat section. Best of luck to this little one. xx

The little pig seems to be doing okay, and has eaten, have put him to bed now.
It's only just over a month ago that a Rabbit was found in our street.

People are so mean and horrible.

Will keep you all informed.

and it's in the middle of freezing winter too! Sometimes I feel less anti-violence than usual.... I want to put that person on the sidewalk with no coat!

HI

Little pig went 2 the vets and he got some cream and an antiseptic wash, this seems to be working and his scabs are slowly heeling, he's also coming out a little more.

We've called him Noel.

It's great that you have taken him in and are looking after him!

I hope that he heals well and will be happy in his new home.
 
What a perfect name for him; so glad he's with you, and is now doing well. Might you be able to adopt him yourself?
 
I cannot beleive how horrible people can be ! Please let us know how you get on at the vets. That is 3 piggies abandoned in 2 days (that we know about) gggrrrr
