So the summer is here and as more of the windows are open there seem to be lots of flies indoors. I'm wondering what's the best way to repel them while still being piggy safe? Thanks in advance x
I would highly recommend the old sticky fly paper. Last year we had a problem with flies in the house and mother bought me some Raid fly traps I think they were called. When I saw it was just the sticky brown stuff I wasn't impressed. I thought it relied on the fly happening to land on it and didn't think it would work. Mother forced me to put two up (drawing pinned to the ceiling, put the pins in v securely as ended up with one falling down and sticking in my hair!). Next morning they were covered in flies and had no problems for weeks. Not pretty to look at but very effective!
Fly screens, suspended door length chains/plastic strips or net curtains help cut down the general amount of flies indoors or in their sheds generally, but i usually use fly papers in there shed or a swot.
oh & yes fly papers look gross & walking into them is just eeeeeeeukky... i have done that before!
i usually suspend the fly papers above the roofed hutch & in the shed window (as the flies go there towards the light to get out)
(if no roof to their run or cage put the fly papers to the side where if they fall down so they wont go in the piggies cage/living arrangement)
xx
