guinea pig friendly paint?

Hi,
we've bought the girls a new wooden house to use in their run and I want to paint or varnish it and was just wondering what I could use? ?/
I have checked the tins of paint (gloss and emulsion) and varnish that we've got in the garage and they don't mention anything about pets at all.

I know that paints with a low VOC level are safer to humans as there are less toxins but I'm not sure about animals, sorry.

i used culprinol 'shades' and once its dry its safe for pets.

Plasicote non toxic spray is pet safe. I have used this on many animal things. Brightens them up and protects against urine. Its the one with pictures of toys on the can. I comes in lots of great colours too. Its available in wilkinsons for about £5.50 a can.

I used this for the inside and outside of my shed with no issues at all - i did leave it for about a week before putting the pigs anywhere near it though - that could have been me been overly cautious as usual lol
