So I’ve noticed that whenever I have lap time with Marlee, I always end up with a lot of her fur on my clothes. Does anyone have any ideas on how to either get rid of the furs or how to prevent getting fur on clothes? Thanks in advance!

hi! in the spring time piggies shed a lot to get rid of their winter coat for the nice weather! i suggest getting a lint roller, it helps me a BUNCH and you get get them anywhere such as a dollar store or target or walmart :)

Do you put Marlee on a cuddle pad? I have a long bit of fleece (that is a rather large offcut) I double over for laptime. It doesn't stop all the hairs from getting in my clothes but it certainly helps.

I wear old clothes and use an old towel so the fact I end up covered in fur doesn’t matter.
The sticky side of a piece of sellotape also works as a fur remover

Thank you, that’s very helpful!

No, I put her on an old t shirt during lap time. Thank you for your advice, I’ll be sure to try it!

That is a great idea, but another one of my problems with guinea pig fur is that after I get fur on my clothes, after I wash them, there’s fur everywhere! Ill definitely try the sellotape idea

A rubber brush like a curry comb for horses is excellent for brushing fur off clothes and guinea pig fleecy bedding, but yes I also recommend a fleecy lap pad :)

I use a baby blanket for lap time. I'm not exactley sure what the material is called, it is made of - teddy fleece? I'll attach 2 pictures so you can see, what I mean.
It is really soft and cuddly and my piggies love to snuggle into it. It's also easy to wash, easy to dry and in my experience hair doesn't stick to it like to normal fleece.
I fold it twice, so it's an nice pad, even if an accident happens. My piggies are lap-trained, but when old and/or sick accidents happen.
You can also wrap up a piggy that's afraid. Often they feel more relaxed when in a "piggy buritto". This also prevents too much hair on the clothing.

I put my pigs on a blanket to hold them... that said, especially in the spring, Leela is a real shedder and I still end up covered with Leela fur. If I'm going out after I take a piece of tape and tap it over my clothes to get as much of it off as I can.
