So today I never ever thought this would happen at 4:50 AM on Christmas I heard my piggy yelling come to find this! I had to rush him to the emergency vet hospital 40 minutes away at 5AM please do not buy these toys for you guinea pigs I have bought them before and they were perfectly fine! But today I guess my piggy thought it was would be cool to run full force in it! He was yelling and screaming in pain I felt horrible so I then rushed him to emergency! If you’re a new piggy owner looking for toys I don’t recommend buying these kinda toys for your piggies I wouldn’t want yours getting stuck like mine did it was literally squishing him so badly ! NEVER EVER BUYING THESE TOYS AGAIN! Do you guys have any good recommendations on new fun toys I can buy my two piggies ?

Hope your piggy is OK.
Sorry that you have learnt the hard way that so many commercial toys sold as ‘suitable for guinea pigs’ are anything but.

Thank you for sharing your experience as a warning to others.
Hope you’re getting over your fright.

A big paper bag full of hay is fun. This does sometimes mean a big sacrifice on the part of a piggy slave.
I have to shop at Hotel Chocolat because their bags are superb.

Cardboard boxes to run through and hide in are popular.

Do you have a full picture of this toy or a link to it? We have a similarly shaped one w/ a wood ball inside that looks a lot like this one. I don't think it's big enough for my grown pigs to get trapped in tho.

Wow. Thank you for this. Is piggie ok.
I've bought toys for my piggies and nearly always ignored. . Best I do is a box. . Cut holes in and fill with hay. . Not too tight to avoid hay poking into eyes and hours later . . Fill up and repeat. Lol.View attachment 161692
Hi my piggy is doing fine! :) and also my piggies tend to choose when they like this toy so I never thought much of it but I also have cardboard boxes with hay for them and they love them ! Thanks for the recommendation!

Hi I can’t find the exact toy I been trying to look for the exact one but i found some similar replicas my piggy is really big ! So I have no idea how this even happened to be safe I would just get rid of them because my piggy could’ve died from suffocating from this tight squishing place 🥺

I got mine at petsmart. Can't find it on the site anymore. I'd wager we have the same thing. The pigs were never fond of it.

Size can be misleading - and from experience if they can get themselves trapped, they will. Comet got himself stuck leaping head first into a hay bag (a 1kg one) that only had an opening wide enough for me to grab a handful at a time, and he was a chunky boy. Jack found himself the smallest opening in my parents decking to get underneath it, and then again the smallest opening possible with the neighbours' fence to get into their garden. It's better to err on the side of caution.

Sounds about the same one I either got it at petsmart at petco but of course they sell toys that are dangerous to our piggie
Glad that your piggy is ok.
How about you ?
That must have really scared you.
thanks for asking ! I’m doing fine just keeping an eye out and got rid of any toys I feel they could get stuck in I had a full blown panic attack from hearing him cry and not being able to help him myself but I’m much better now thankyou for asking! :)
