My Guinea pig is about 4 months old and I have just recently noticed her hair loss around her eye about 30 mins ago. Scabby, dry, flaky, red. She still eats plenty and acts normal I just am afraid this is some thing bad. Please help!

It is likely to be fungal/ringworm. Sorry about the very unfortunate timing! How long have you had her?

Here is more information. If possible, please see a vet for a proper diagnosis; we do not advocate home treating on spec due to some very unfortunate experiences.

I agree, in case it is fungal/ringworm please take precaution with handling as ringworm can be passed to humans, so wear gloves. But do get a proper diagnosis.

Thanks guys, I'm going out of town tomorrow so my girlfriend is taking them to the vet tomorrow, and thank god she is still eating plenty, I'm going to take in both pigs to get them checked.
