In Canada you cannot get Guinea pig hammocks unless you special order them from a site like Etsy. Do you guys recommend them? If you have a large herd what of the chances of a Guinea pig liking them or using them?

We don’t have a large herd. Just some spoilt boys!
Our original pair of piggies didn't like hammocks at all, and prefered to sleep under them, or run through them upside down like a tunnel.
Our most recent arrival decided he enjoyed sleeping on top of the fleece forest, and I have made him a hammock stand from a wooden stool, and found one of our old hammocks for him to enjoy.
We decided for his own safety to use the stool, upside down.
Out of the 4 guinea pigs we currently have Wally is the only one to enjoy a hammock.
I think it all comes down to personal choice.

If you can sew, its easy to make a basic hammock yourself. 2 squares of fleece material with loops at each corner.
Here is a photo of our DIY stool stand and a spare hammock I sewed.

I tried to give mine a corner hammock but didn't have much luck. I'm not sure they actually realized how you could use it though, and not sure how to teach them. I may have made a mistake by first putting the hammock in a corner of the cage on the side I approach them from, so they would get on it as part of leaning on the bars when excited for food, which may have given the wrong impression.

I know people have had success though, and it does depend on the pig.
