hi everyone,
i would really like some advise please:
my guinea pig: Scooby has been having trouble going to the bathroom lately...
he is still eating and drinking like normal, but when ever he goes to the bathroom, he arches his back and makes alot of loud weeking noises. it is clear that he was in pain so i took him to the vet and there she gave him antibiotics for a bladder infection. but it has not been helping and there has been no improvement...
what should i do now?!

Please see the vet again and ask for an x-ray/scan to check for bladder stones if treatment for UTI is not doing the trick.
How long has he been on an antibiotic, what antibiotic is he on and what dosage?

hi, scooby is on a pain killer and another anti biotic that idk the name of but its supposed to be killing infections. his dosage is: 0.15 millimetres twice a day of the antibiotic that kills infection, and 0.3 millimetres twice a day of the pain killer.
Cheers,
Topaz

0.15 ml twice daily sounds like a very low dosage to me for any antibiotic. How old/heavy is your guinea pig?

hello everyone,
i am devastated to say that scooby did not make it to surgery and has passed away.
it breaks my heart he was loved very much and was with me and scooby's brother bean in his final moments.
thank you for all you replies and i wish with all my heart and soul that scooby could have made it threw.
