I took my guinea pig out for lap time today (after a very long time of trying to pick her up LOL)
once i finally picked her up I went down onto the sofa and sat there with her and gave her a few carrots and treats and whenever she wasn’t eating any food she was biting the towel and biting at my clothes and making squeaky noises. any idea what that means?

Hello. Sounds to me like she had had enough cuddles and wanted to be put back. She may have wanted a pee and didn’t know where to go.

My boar George does this when he wants to go back to his cage!
He is older and used to me - but he doesn't pee when he's on the lap (always hidden in a snuggle sack, he doesn't like to be out in the open) so when he's had a treat or two he sometimes settles for a while but sometimes it's straight away. When he wants to go back - whether to toilet or just to get home - he creeps out of the sack and nips at my apron, pulling at it so I notice. It's my cue to put him back. I always try to listen to him so he feels like he's not being ignored. He never used to do it for the first few months, probably because he was nervous, so I guess it's good that she feels safe enough to communicate!
(Also that she's not just sinking her teeth straight into your finger - Zara, I'm looking at you!)

she started biting it as soon as i took her out, however i guess there’s still a chance i maybe took her out as soon as she needed to pee

That sounds like what my Elvis does. It sounds like your pig would rather interact with you from the ground and on their terms but don't worry that doesn't mean they will love you any less! :)

Have you had your guinea pigs for a short amount of time? Because if so, your piggies probably need to get comfortable and adapt to their new surroundings first.

i’ve had my guinea pig for around 2 months. she still runs when I try to pick her up however she is comfortable enough to walk up to my hand and take a treat!

It’s natural for guinea pigs to run away when someone comes near, its their natural instincts because they are prey in the wild, I’m sure she’ll get used to you and will get more comfortable around you over time

2 months is still a short time in the grand scheme of things. She may never stop running away, that’s their instincts which can’t really be dampened. Just be sure not to try and chase her around the cage, if that makes sense.
