i have to clean my male guinea pig out quite alot because he gets loads of sawdust and that stuck in his bum before i clean him out hes squeaking quite a lot arching his back and in pain but normally after i clean him out hes fine but last couple days hes still squeaking quite badly and ive also noticed he only squeaks on the poos which he eats what could be the problem x

I would change his bedding. There's lot's of different types mentioned on here & generally sawdust is no recommended. I use Megazorb covered with a layer of hay. As a temporary measure if you're still using sawdust, try covering it with a layer of hay.

Id advise a vet check up...squeaking when pooing can be a sign of bladder problems due to their anatomy.

I agree with Amanda. I have had two pigs with bladder problems, both of whom cried when pooing (and not when weeing). Any signs of pain or discomfort are always worth getting checked by a vet.

ye i have him bedded on hay. i took him to the vet before and they gave me some powder which i sprinkle on his food i will book him to see the vets

Please have him seen by a competent vet, the sooner be the better.
