So a friend tagged me on Facebook on a post about a guinea pig in someones garden!

The lady said she is feeding it and leaving water...its made a den in some conifers....

I suggested popping some boxes down, playing some Guinea pig sounds and just sitting quietly talking to it....

Looked back for an update today, it's been out there a few days I think! She just said it's fine, eating the food, dont know what... I have said they should call the RSPCA otherwise its gonna be a sad ending...

Cant believe no one is missing the poor thing!

Cant believe the person wouldn't just take it inside, even if it had to live in a cardboard box for a few days with some grass and a water bowl, until its owner turns up or rspca can take it in

I hate when people say 'its fine' ... fine is the bare minimum. If she cares enough to feed the poor thing surely she would want them to be safe and secure in a home! I hope someone's able to catch them and get them to safety.

I know! It's not very local to me either.... I have offered a plastic hide and even some hay! I hope she can get it... poor thing ..

That breaks my heart. :(

I found an injured praying mantis in my backyard one time...
Me on the phone: Is this the Humane Society?
Receptionist: Yes.
Me: We have an injured Praying Mantis that may need medical attention.
Receptionist: Excuse me?

I can just imagine the receptionist after a day of calls about cats and dogs and farm animals suddenly having to worry about all the praying mantis injuries of the world

are they not able to catch it or just letting it be feral.

Perhaps a humane rat trap would catch the poor little piggie. It will be a race against time, dogs, cats, rats and especially stoats, foxes and weasels

As said by a few on here, I think a lot of them will be surrendered and cases of dumping could also go up. This period of lockdown seems to have prompted some to take on pets that their children will get bored with etc. Sad state of affairs. I hope that piggy is in good hands soon :(

I bet the little chap won’t be easy to catch, will require a serious amount of people to circle him. My two girls are hard enough to catch when out in their run
