My Friend took her pet guinea pig (butterscotch) to the vet today, sadly butterscotch has mites. The vet gave him an injection today to treat it but didn't charge he also said that butterscotch will be needing 2 more injections throughout the following weeks of consultations.
Does anyone know what he might charge for these 3 injections?
Thanks

Hi Lisa,

It does vary from practise to practise my vet charges £24.00 for the 3 injections and consultation. :)

I was so lucky with Roger. He would Ivomec 3 guineas for about £7.

They don't make them like him any more...

When I took my guinea pigs a few years ago it was the consultation which was the most which was about £10 for the first guinea pig and a bit less for the other two - he advised that all 3 of the piggies that shared the same hutch needed doing even though only one of them had haymite. rolleyes I think for the injections themselves he only charged about £1.80 per injection. I must say though I'm not a fan of the injections and think the topical stuff that you put on the back of the neck is much better and the route I will be takng next time any of my guineas get hay mite.:)

We haven't been recently ( touchwood) but my vet charged £15 for the full course for two guineas nearly two years ago

when I had a guinea injected about 6 months ago now, I think it cost between £12 and £15. The most it usually costs is about £25. More than that and it's too expensive, but if that is the case, the guinea still needs the treatment, so find another vet.
