hello. I'm absolutely heartbroken. My four year old just brought me one of our piggies bleeding at his nose and mouth. Upon further inspection, his two top teeth are gone and he's bleeding. I've calmed him down and stopped the bleeding, but I'm so worried about him. And advice on care? Will he be okay?

Okay. Just joined before posting to ask for help and insight. I'll look around for that category to move my question..

I have moved your thread to the Health/Illness section. It is specifically monitored by some experienced members, so we can help any guinea pigs in distress as quickly and best as possible.

Please see a vet as soon as you can; he needs to check for damage to the teeth and jaw bones or cuts to the tongue/lips. Freak accidents can happen and they can really panic you!

Recommended vets in other countries: Veterinarians - The GLX-Files

Depending on the findings, you may want to ask for a painkiller. Your piggy may also have problems with picking up food in the coming days. It would be good if you considered stepping in with syringe feeding mushed up pellets/or half mushed pellets and recovery food to cover the fibre that should make up most of the food intake. Grate, finely slice or mush any veg that you are normally feeding. if necessary, you need to pace the bits in hs mouth if he is unable to pick them up on his own.
Here is our illustrated step-by-step by guide that tells you exactly what and how and also what you can do in an emergency with what you have got at home.

Thank you so much! I will update my info. I'm in the US and currently looking in my area for a vet. Thank you, thank you!
