Junior Guinea Pig
I noticed this morning when I went down to feed my guineas that one was limping. She hopped around, almost like popcorning, in order to not use one forepaw so much. The injured paw was tucked up against her chest most of the time. I don't know how this happened since she was fine last night after I put her back in her cage. She seems to be in discomfort, especially when I was checking out her injured leg. She's 6 years old (oh and her name is Kiwi
)
What is the difference between a guinea pigs actions when they have just a sprained/bruised forepaw and a broken one?
Also, I've attached a picture below of their hay feeder (from online, but its the same one as in their cage). Could this be dangerous for guinea pigs? I was thinking about how you aren't supposed to have wire floor cages and I was was wondering if this was similar to that. Maybe she could have gotten her paw stuck in it?
