Hey,I have 2 guinea pigs. Kirby and Yoshi. We have had them for a bit over 2 months. They live in 2 play pens connected, so they have plenty of room. Its in their own bedroom but the door is always open and right off the connected livingroom and kitchen so they can hear and see us enough but not too much. I have a third I can connect for even more space or have to put them in when cleaning theirs. They are skiddish. I feel like they have gotten more comfortable. Laying around in the open now, and coming up to me when I'm in their 'cage', feeding, cleaning or spending time with them. I can kinda pet their necks. But that's it. Should I start picking them up so they can get use to it or keep just being with them and petting them as they let me till they are more comfortable?

Sounds like you are doing well!
As they are prey animals they do tend to be skittish anyway.
Do they have little nest beds or tunnels?
If so, you could lift one at a time while in their bed, talking softly to them as you do so. Keep at floor level in case they get spooked and try to run or jump. Do this a few times then gently place your hand in too and stroke them on the head and neck areas. You can then progress to carefully lifting them out onto your lap for a few minutes, have a towel or similar handy so they can hide under it at first.

Hi and welcome

Yes, you can pick them up now.

Hello! Welcome to the forum. Be lovely to see some photos of your piggies.

Great advice above, sounds like they are settling really well. I tend to go for the method @Janice C uses for taming.

Hope to see you around the forum!

They have one bed that dont use, they other they tore up even though they have plenty of toys they can chew lol. So now they just have a towel they like laying on if they are in the hideys. So i will definitely try soon. Thanks! :)
