I saw on the forums page an advert for a guinea pig magazine, link here Guinea Pig Magazine and I thought it looked good, and I just want to know what other people think about this and whether or not I should buy it.

It is a great magazine - and not just because I have been a contributor for 9 years and usually have an article in every issue (although the coming 10th anniversary one will be a bit of a look-back for me in homage of my piggies that have featured in nearly every issue, either for a picture story in the early years or as an illustration to an article). I usually cover behaviour and social interaction between piggies and with humans in the widest sense.
Last year I followed a piggy life from the first hours after birth through all ages to old age and until the time we have to say goodbye with looking at age specific developments and social changes but also at a practical owner aspect for each age, starting with issue #54 (the one in the picture) until issue #60 (the current one) (Days of Their Lives runs from First Hours - Baby Weeks - School Age - Teenage Months - Adult Years - Old Age - Facing the End)

We always have a Readers Pigs Gallery in the centrefold as well as a section for reader letters; a medical or biological article and a welfare/care article all of which are written by real experts. We also have a well qualified Ask The Experts team. There is always a rescue story from around the world (the coming one is about how the oldest still existing Australian guinea pig rescue in Sydney has come into being) as well as rescue adverts. There is a regular column by the lady who runs Cavy Corner sanctuary and rescue in Doncaster (Thoughts before Veg Time) and now new one by the owner of Los Angeles Guinea Pig Rescue. You will be meeting guinea pigs with quite a lot of followers on social media in every issue. Elf, a stand-up comedienne whose routines centre on guinea pigs, writes a funny column about her guinea pigs (Love Songs). One of my personal favourites is a great cartoon by a lady from Poland but there is always a story about the Cover piggy (from pictures sent in by readers) as well as page to remember reader's piggies that have made their way to the Rainbow Bridge plus space for other changing content. So lots to read and to look at when snuggling on your sofa with your favourite tipple. If you have other family, you may have to fight over who gets to read it first, though!

You can just subscribe for one issue to see whether you like it - but I can guarantee that you will become hooked!
A subscription also makes a great birthday or Christmas present. You can choose between the printed option or a cheaper download version; either are available worldwide, by the way. The magazine comes out 6 times a year. The next issue will be out in a week's time. It should be on its way from the printers around now. ;)
A year subscription was my birthday present before I was asked to become a regular contributor from issue #7.

I think it’s a brilliant magazine - great info and all about piggies! Got loads of past issues for Christmas and am working my way through them on weekends with my piggies on my lap.. :D
