One of my guinea pigs escaped and is lost somewhere in the house. I sometimes leave the cage door open so they dont feel too enclosed and they never tried to get out so I didn’t think anything of it. However I went into my room and noticed Guinevere wasn’t in the cage. My bedroom door was open so that means she could be literally anywhere. Me and my sisters have checked every single possible place she could be but she is nowhere to be found and no poop pellets anywhere either. I’ve tried crinkling the lettuce bag because she always comes for food but she still hasn’t showed up. It’s like she literally vanished and I’m not sure how to find her. What can I do to find her?

I’m sorry that your piggy is missing :( Is she definitely in the house ie are you sure there wasn’t a front door open or anything? She is likely to be scare and squashed herself in to the tiniest gap. All I can think is to leave her cage open to see if she finds her way back and leave food bowls of food around to see if she goes to any of them.

Have you checked under beds and the settee? Like I say, guinea pigs like to hide and if she’s scare she is probably in a tiny gap somewhere.

Sorry I’m not much help. I hope you can find her soon xx

Try putting a hidey in the room where you think she is and fill it with her favourite veg and leave it for a while - give her time and space to come out into the open without feeling threatened in any way. This never fails to bring mine out of hiding in these circumstances, which happens to most of us all occasionally. I wouldn't keep the door of the cage open if you don't want them to get out.

I hope you find her soon!

Hi. Has she turned up
Keep calm and quiet and make the noise that attracts her. they can squeeze into very small spaces .

One of mine disappeared once at floor time. Turned out I'd forgotten to block the side of the TV unit off, and although it comes to the floor on the sides you see, the back is actually hollow, and it turned out he was under it. I hope you've found her now.

Good luck finding her.
As others have said she’s probably scared and in hiding somewhere.
When Merab was new she suddenly got panicked and ran under the sideboard - fortunately I’d seen her go and was able to retrieve her eventually.
Leave food out and available, especially veggies that will provide liquid.
You may also want to leave hay somewhere.
Can she get into her cage by herself
Hope she comes out soon.
