Guinea Pig Mites.

Hi there,

I am adopting a couple of male guinea pigs, about 4 months old this weekend and I am worried about mites. I just want to be prepared. I have heard revolution works, and ivermectin but dont know which one is most effective?

They are a peruvian X breed so they have longer fur. Does this make any difference to which medication I use?

Any help would be so much appreciated :)
 
Hi i've used the cat/kitten revolution before, you only put a drop (there's more in the little dispenser..... i share it between two piggies but only use one drop at a time), you part their hair at the back in between the ears/neck area and careful pop one drop on them. Don't stroke them for awhile afterwards till it dries up :)

I'd not use it unless they'd been seen to by a vet first tho.....

Looking forward to seeing their pigtures ! x)
