I've been a follower of this forum for several years but never posted before. Just wondering if anyone can shed any light on a possible issue?
We currently have just the 2 piggies. The grey one was totally fine earlier - female (both are) and around 4y 9/10m in age. Good weight. Tonight when my eldest son put them back from the run in the garden to their hutch he said the grey was acting weird. She's tossing her head from side to side (think Bristol Zoo polar bears from 1970s/ 80s, if you ever saw them) and walking strangely - really stretching herself right out before then moving her back legs - and is just reluctant to move, it would seem.
I've had a look at her and she was talking to me when I was holding her. Eyes are bright and she was chattering and squeaking away. Slightly squirmy - as is usual.
I'll aim to check on her again tonight and then in the morning before work (I'm away early and eldest son will put them out in the run around 9am as he is home from uni) and can get her an appt most likely tomorrow afternoon (am home by lunchtime) if necessary. Never seen it before and have had pigs since I was little (the other female has dodgy hips so walks awkwardly sometimes and doesn't like the damp but this is just different)
Son is very attached to the pigs and very in tune with them. Sadly we lost one last time he was home - she was in his arms at the time, sitting waiting at the vets for an emergency appointment.
Thank you
