Guinea Pig Names

@lailajayne3 your girls are so cute!

I've gone through so many themes with names in the past. At the moment I'm quite random with them though!
Flint - Came to me with the name and i just liked it
Rummer - She is named in homage to one of my old guinea's, Pirate.
Lupin - Because she can turn from being sweet to a beast overnight. Much like a werewolf. So Remus Lupin it was, but i couldn't call a pretty sow Remus!
Aramis - When i got him all my piggies were named after book characters. It was a toss up between Aramis and Atticus.
Yuki - The bassist from one of my favorite japanese bands name.
Hiro - Wanted another name to go with Yuki, and Hiro is added to other words to suggest largeness (Such as Hiroshima city being "broad island") It was perfect because Hiro is a very large, fat Guinea pig.
Autumn - Autumn was born at mine when i had her mummy on foster. She was born two days before Autumn began :)
Ember - I've collected my little ponies for years and Ember was one of the least girly names I could pull from it. Also she was born the night before bonfire night. And shes a firey little madam!
Cosmos - I'm also a huge transformers fan and used to try and steal my older cousins toys back in the day. Cosmos was the least masculine/ridiculous name I could pull from it for a little sow! I also like space themed names :)

Everyone has such cute and creative names!

Here are mine

From left to right, Joey, Lucky, Dexter, and Percy :P

@WafflesCupcakes I've always wanted a guinea pig called Percy but it never seems to "fit" any of mine.
I know what you mean with names not fitting! Grrrr it's so frustrating. I always want to do group names when I have multiple animals but I never get them at the same time. And by then its to much of a confusion to try and change names.

Rip
Snowball
Buttons
Alby

Current
Fudge
Buddy
Peanut

I thought there should be a thread where we post what our guinea pigs names are, so let's hear them! Post your pigs names below!
Great idea for a thread. We have five ladies. Charlie, Blacketta, Cowella, Cowena (daughter) and Frisky!

RIP Whitey, Caramel, Whitina, Caramelina, Sandy. Your passing brought us pain but your company so much pleasure. Thank you.

My sows:
Coco
Penny
Honey
Matilda (Tilly)
Mouse
Harry
Dorothy (Dotty)
Millie

And my boars:
Fred
George
Billy
Rodney
Benji
Humphrey
Monty
Stanley
Arthur
Trevor
Chester
Charlie

I usually go with old fashioned human names but like with Mouse, the nickname stuck and I can't think of her as anything else now! And Harry came with her name as she was missexed, but nothing else seemed to fit :D
Goodness me! How many? ! I'd have to retire to look after that lot!

Four sows:
Caramac (in pic LHS)
Ghillie(in pic RHS)
Noodle
Tufty (Tufty Jo is her Sunday name, lol)

Well they do take up all the time that I'm not at work! They're worth it though :D
I believe you. I never thought we'd end up with five. As soon as we went from 3 to 5 sows though the dynamic changed in the group overnight and even the less sociable ones became much more confident. Did you notice that? Safety in numbers and all that?

Definitely, though I have some odd dynamics- my herd of 7 is made up of two neutered boars and their shared wives and I also have a bonded boar trio.
The girls in the herd all play off and learn from each other, so once they all came together they all learned to wheek and beg for food from the only one who did it before!
And putting a baby boy in with my two 6yo boars was a temporary arrangement until they both adopted him- and it's taken years off them both!

Thanks for sharing that. Goodness mme. Fascinating. Enough to keep David Attenborough busy for a whole series there! It's good to know. I would like boars as well at some stage but thought they always fought!

Love this post, only just caught up with it!

RIP piggies Blackie, Patches, Bumble, Spike (1st), Arty, Pepsi, Cola.
Current piggies Spike (2nd), Peanut, Willow and Bracken.
