Our wonderful piggy sitter extraordinaire is expecting her first baby any day now.
I have already made her a couple of gifts, and there is one more think I want to make.

So to keep this slightly piggy related, one of the things I made was a guinea pig taggie blanket.

I am also thinking of making a new born hat and matching pair of leggings out of this fabric.

But her baby is a boy, and I wasn't sure if the fabric was a bit 'girly'.
So for those of you with boys, would you put a baby boy in a rabbit hat and leggings?

Yes I would. My twin boys wore all sorts of cute outfits when they were newborn, including a very fetching peach cardigan knitted by a friend and some lovely sleepsuits with kittens on. That rabbit print is very gender neutral.

So long as it’s not pink, I’m sure they’ll be fine :D Lovely fabric:luv:

@VickiA Do you threaten to get the photos out with them in the said cardies? :))

I have photos of them wearing them in my little “memory box”. The peach cardigan had bunny buttons. It was so cute (actually it was a dolls pattern as they were prem and so small we needed very small clothes so they were rapidly knitted for us).

Oh bless them :wub::wub:

They are adorable! My brother went through a phase of only wanting to wear one t-shirt every single day for about a month (Mum had to wash it over night so he didn’t realise it was missing) and it was bright pink with a black cat on - so I think you’re OK!

Thanks for all of the feedback.
I will definitely go ahead and do leggings and a hat in the rabbit material.
And hopefully it will make her smile.

When we were away over the New Year she was caring for our animals, and there was a huge storm here.
It was so huge it blew away part of the rabbits outdoor run structure (they live in a hutch in a proper shelter but it is connected to multiple outdoor run areas).
Of course the rabbits chose to go 'free range'.
Our male is very tame and was pretty easy to catch, but apparently it took a long time, our valiant pet sitter and her husband, and 4 of our neighburs to finally herd our nightmare doe to safety!
I call that going well beyond the call of duty.
