hi I have a female pig just under 2 and she suddenly stopped eating. She was interested in the food but appeared like she was struggling to eat. She's been to the vets twice and had a full dental check and the vets filed her teeth dan and she's still displayed the behaviour after eating and trying to eat. She is on painkillers and syringe food! Just wondering if anyone has noticed this behaviour before. She is throwing her neck up from side to side with her mouth open. Thanks

It does sound like a dental issue, how experience is your vet with treating dental issues in guinea pigs? I would also feel along the sides of the jawline for lumps or bumps that could indicate an abscess. This can cause pain chewing even if they teeth are not yet overgrown (they will overgrow more noticeably over time if they pig is not chewing evenly.) Sometimes x-rays can spot abscesses/tooth root problems that have not yet become apparent, so that might be another option.
