Hi

My Guinea pig is sitting in a corner making strange noises, small mm's. He stopped eating his normal food a couple of days ago and I switched to Recovery sachet the vet gave us the last time he was ill. He eat them yesterday, howver today, he tried a tiny part of his normal food, but gave up and went back into his home, facing the wall making those noises. I tried to coax him out and made up another sachet, but he's not really responding to the food, he keeps turning away.

I'm worried it could be his teeth, has anyone else encountered this type of problem. He's a 3 year old boar.

thanks

Chock

A guinea pig sitting fluffed up in a corner needs to see a vet urgently, especially if he isn't eating. Have you tried getting an appointment today for him?

Hope he'll be ok :...

I agree with Poppy'sMum, He needs to see a vet ASAP. If a piggy is not eating it is serious and they can go downhill very quickly. Is he eating hay or veg? Can you try and tempt him with grass? It may well be that he has some dental issues, but there are many reasons that a guinea pig will stop eating.
Please get him to a vet as soon as you can.

He definitely needs to be seen, since sitting in the corner refusing to eat could be a variety of issues. I've had a pig refuse food because of dental problems, but also recently had one refuse to eat and be so lethargic that I thought she could have paralysis due to a UTI... so there's a wide range of potential issues. I hope your vet can help you figure it out and get him on the road to recovery!

feed him with syringe.Make mix of pellets and water in blender and feed him.Do not allow him lose weight 20-30% losing weight leading to death.and he need vet.
