I need urgent help. My regular exotic vet is unable to get us in for a few days and there are no others around. Yesterday I found a red liquid on my guinea pig and thought it could be blood. Both me and my partner looked for injuries and we couldn’t find any so we thought she sat on a tomato or something. One of her sisters just had to get surgery yesterday to fix her teeth and they found that she needs to get one removed. And about a month ago another one was diagnosed with arthritis (they have all been healthy their whole lives but this months been rough). So I decided to put the three of them in their own section of the cage. This morning nothing seemed strange but when I came back I found this red blotch. I was wondering if anyone knows what this is and is it treatable? All of the piggies are girls and she’s around 7 years old. Sorry for the long post and gross picture it’s just been super rough time for us especially since another one of my piggies died around 2 months ago unexpectedly.

I can’t advise but in the UK there should always be access to emergency vet treatment.
If you are so worried your own vet should have a number for emergency or out of hours vet care.
Hope you can get this sorted out.

Hi

This is likely from the reproductive tract and should be vet checked. We cannot do that for you. I am very sorry about your lack of vet access. How far can you travel?

Thank you all for the advice! I was able to bring her in this morning but the vet couldn’t find anything wrong. She did an xray and ultrasound. All I was told was to keep an eye on her and give her antibiotics. I’ll update if anything changes but she seems extra energetic, she’s not usually popcorning this much so hopefully she’s feeling better

Glad nothing serious was found. Hopefully just a one off!

Hopefully whatever the issue was is now resolved.
She’s lucky to have such a caring owner
