Hi guys,

Sadly my 5 month old guinea pig fluffy passed away 3 days ago. I cleaned him out Friday morning, he was out playing with my other boar Rolo, and around 1 hour later I had to go away down to London. My Nan and grandad came to ours Friday lunch time and fluffy had died :’( there were no marks on him, blood or anything! All my Nan saw was a white kind of mucus coming from his bum. Does anyone have any ideas for what could have happened? :( can this happen? :( They are my first pigs so it’s been awful! Today I went and bought a new baby boar and rolo has taken him in as his own which has been amazing. X

Hi I’m so sorry for your loss. RIP lovely little Fluffy.
Hugs
Guinea pigs can hide any kind of illness really well as they’re prey animals. (I’m not suggesting fluffy was ill, just that any signs can easily be hidden)
I’ve no idea what might have caused him to pass away so suddenly, sorry x

Thankyou for replying!
Me neither :( it was so sad! I can’t sleep and I’m constantly thinking about him as I just feel so awful for not knowing the cause :( x

So sorry for your loss. Losing a piggy is always hard, but losing one so young must be devastating. Sleep tight little Fluffy.xx

So sorry for your loss.
Please don’t beat yourself up.
Piggies can die without being obviously ill.
Take time to grieve and be gentle with yourself.

Thank you for all your support guys! X x

I’m so sorry for your loss. Please don’t blame yourself. Piggies are masters at disguising ailments. Huge hugs.

I am so very sorry for your loss.

Sleep well little one

RIP Fluffy
