Is Science selective the main 'pellet' food that people feed their piggies or are there other brands. I have read that it keeps it's vit C but was wondering is that important if you feed lots of veggies that are high in vit C. I thought maybe people use it to avoid the colourings in some of the mix brands. From what I have read quite a lot of piggies love the Science selective. At the moment Chloe and Rosie are on Guirty guinea pig because that is what they were being fed on when I got them, before and if I change I want to find the best for them so I only have to change the once.

I have breed chinchillas for several years and always use charnwoods chinchillas pellets. I'll look into their guinea pig pellets....thanks for that O0

Gerrty Guinea Pig is one of the most expensive, and the worst, mixes. It has colourants and other chemicals, and is too high in protien.

I use Chudley Rabbit Royale which has no chemicals. It does not have vitimin C but this does not matter because my pigs get loads of veg.It is also low in protein.

Any mix that you piggies like is o.k. as long as you follow the criteria of no chemicals,no colours and low protein. The protien should not be more than 12%.
