I have a large group of girls living in my shed with a neutered boar, Paddington. They get along just fine, but watching them at veg time is like an episode of Coronation street! Today I gave them a whole apple (amongst other things) and they've never seen a whole apple before, it's normally sliced into small chunks - and it was the funniest thing I've seen in a long time! It turned into a game, like football, with possession of the 'ball', attack, defense and lots of 'foul play'.

Some of their attitudes:

Paddy: I'm the boss, the apple is mine and I shall eat it all, damn you, even if I have to knock you out with it first!
Harmony: I know I'm only small but I'd really like that apple please, oops, if I'm quick I can whip it away from you
Ginny: I'm too low down the pecking order to deserve any apple, I'll clean up whatever is left when you've all finished
Kiki: What apple?
Fleur: I'm bigger than most of you and will throw my weight around until I get the apple all to myself!
Moomin: Let's all just share the apple, there's plenty for all of us!

She-Ra, on the other hand, had noticed a second whole apple while the others were fighting over the first, and had it all to herself!

Ah, gotta love the pigs!

Watching them at mealtimes can be SUCH fun!

Thanks for making me chuckle! inbreedinginbreedinginbreeding

I thought that, should have videoed it, didn't realise it was going to be so amusing when I started! Perhaps I'll re create it tomorrow.

It's the first time I've seen Paddington act like the boar in charge! rolleyes

Oh please i'm nearly wetting myself, that's soooooooo dam cute! :(|):(|):(|)
oooooooooooo if you get a vid i'm sure it would be a huge hit with us all droolx)

I for one would love to have seen it. I also love meal times - sometimes the tug of wars over certain things make me laugh like mad!

:))

Sounds familiar!

Mine cavies will fight over individual leaves / chunks of their fresh feed, even when there's plenty lying untouched. *** watching them do that!
