I took my guinea pig (named peach) out of his cage to make sure he was pooping normally. He tried to jump out of my arms and landed on the wire of his cage. I didn't let him touch the ground and caught him (he was barely a foot off the ground anyways) but I put him back in his cage to see f he could walk normally. He seemed okay but I touched his hips and he seems to get agitated when i touch his right hip. Maybe it's just because I'm touching him. But later on I saw him scratch his ear with I think both legs (separate times). Now he is laying down and his breathing is a bit heavy. I'm not sure what to do or if he's even injured or just shocked. This incident happened about 15 minutes ago.

Piggies are often agitated when you touch their hips. Pop in some veggies so he has to walk to get them stand aware so you don’t spook him and assess them. If he is not walking okay then he needs to see a vet. But assess the situation now that he has calmed down a little

Hi!

I am very sorry! Freak jumps can unfortunately happen. It doesn't sound serious but please see a vet if your piggy is limping or showing signs of pain/discomfort/loss of mobility now or in the coming days. The hip will be likely painful and your piggy won't want you to touch there.
