Hi everyone. i have a female guinea pig called Rhino and i think she is pregnant. I'm hoping that she's just fat but her tummy is growing really big so i dont think thats the case. Rhino has arthritis on her hip bones which causes her hind legs to turn inwards. She can move about but with her legs in an awkward position. Do you think that may affect her pregnancy? because of the opening of the pelvic bones and all that? I'm not sure about that. please help!

Hello Valerie

Has Rhino been in with a boar recently or it is more the change in shape that concerns you?

If the chances of pregnancy are low/non existent then look to other causes for the shape change - bloat, ovarian cysts, natural growth pattern/ex-breeding female (depending on age/background). What age is Rhino, how long have you had her, when did you first notice the changes?
