I'm trying to find good rescues in Scotland where people can adopt piggies from or where piggies can be handed in for re-homing.

Unfortunately there is only one listed on TGPF Rescue Locator, Hutches Boarding & Rescue at Alyth in Perthshire.

Scottish members please let us know which rescue you got your piggies from & any comments you'd like to add about the rescue.

There's a serious lack of piggy rescuesin Scotland. Although I live in Wolverhampton now I am originally from north of the border and struggled to find rescue piggies when I lived there. Thistle cavies was very good but has unfortunately closed, some if the sspca centres take in small animals but I have no idea what their knowledge and experience are like. The cat and dog home in Aberdeen also takes in the odd piggy but again I don't know what they are like. Great for dogs and cats but not sure for small furries. There are probably some small rescues around under the radar so to speak as I adopted a hamster from one such tiny rescue as a teenager. Good luck finding some more, it'd be good to have some good ones on board if they are out there!

they are few and far between. Balmore SSPCA rescue here take small pets but they dont seem to ever really get piggies. The odd bunny, the odd hamsters and lots of rats.

There is indeed a lack of good rescues in Scotland, presently we can only recommend one, which is Hutches rescue. There are other rescues in Scotland which we are currently exploring although only one we may visit in the near future.

We had to travel to @rosie and bramble guinea rescue to adopt our latest boys Olly & Dexter as unfortunately Joanne at Hutches rescue didn't have any suitable boars for our boys Basil & Uno. Although it was a round trip of over 350miles it was definitely, worth it...
