So I just had the biggest shock minutes ago.

I went upstairs to feed my four piggies and as soon as I opened the door I see two bright white beautiful guinea pigs. Immediately I recognized them as Gilbert and Ludwig my eldest two boars.

They were standing beside Romano and Corey's cage, happily staring at them outside of their CC. I was extremely shocked and looked to their cage. SOMEHOW the cheeky little monkeys had OPENED the CC cage up out of the grids that hold them inside and had just casually walked out.

I don't know how long they had gotten free, I imagine at least half an hour.

They are on a new diet because Gilbert has been ill and Ludwig has been chewing the bars like crazy trying to get to the pellets they are no longer allowed.

I looked to the pellet bag and the little monkeys have chewed a hole in it and eaten a nice share of pellets!

The hay bag also had a few bite marks but they hadn't gotten in.

I literally could not believe it. I found it funny but tomorrow I am going out to buy some thing else to keep their CC cage shut.

I cannot believe they got out.

Pretty sure they were not happy with their new diet. They even gave me the most innocent look ever when I stepped inside the room. The little monkeys!
 
Oh that is too funny! That goodness everyone was okay! If mine got lose I think it'd be a pain to find them! I have them right in the den and I have 2 dogs :... Man I dont even like thinking about that haha.

Mine have a whole bedroom to themselves so there's no problem if they do escape but gosh, I can't believe they somehow did. I'm sure you can imagine my shocked expression.

At first I thought I suddenly had six guinea pigs somehow until I realised what little munchkins were staring at me innocently in return.
 
I was almost giggling out loud to myself when i read this :)) Goofy little piggies lucky they were ok hehe Mine have a whole room (besides the stuff I have stored in the closet and other corner) to themselves but I also have kitties who are constantly in there peaking at them. Mine would blend right in with all the different colors on Vinny and Oreo only being black and white.
 
:)) Ha ha! Naughty pigs! Very Pesky behaviour..... :))

As well as using connectors, Cable ties are excellent for securing C&C grids together and can be bought from Maplins or most hardware stores...

Thats so adorable though i can just imagine them walking out of there cage and investigating everything. x)
 
I used to keep the hay bag on top of the piggies sleeping boxes,but the little monkeys soon found out how to pull it down ,chew a hole in it and then creep inside.Obviously the hay in their cage wasnt good enough!

luckily I dont have any other pets and its just me and my parents who live here so nothing to worry about. They've been in that cc for a year and this was the first time they've ever gotten out. I think they had fun though :))

I've added some more holder's today to secure them in. I'm pretty sure Ludwig was the mastermind and Gilbert followed.

haha they really are smart and cheeky little things aren't they? :))
 
Certainly are.

I think they just wanted to explore life beyond the cage. If 4x4 CC isn't big enough I think my guinea pigs need to lead the protest against small animal cage sizes for guinea pigs. xD
 
:)) hehe, clever piggies! Glad they were ok though and didn't get very far!
 
Haha thank you. Nope they moved about 2 foot from their cage if that. xD
