I've had a male guinea pig for about 2 years. We are very close and he has always felt confortable with everything, my cats, walking around the house etc. Today after i cleaned his cage and put him inside, while he was eating a touched him on the back and he got scared...He jumped out of his cage right to the floor. I tried putting him again and he did the same. I was afraid he would have a heart atack or something so i put him in my lap on the bed. He is afraid of everything now! Even hay or the smell Of vegies and food....everytime i try to leave him alone in my bed he just cries and jumps in my lap! What do i do?

Stay with him and (after cleaning the cage) sit in it with him to show him it's not scary. That was What I suggested for a friends guinea pig and it worked!
