Guinea pig scared...

Ive had my guinea pig for a while now, but he still seems to be scared to death. I can't even pet the guy and to top it off, the other guinea pig that was in the cage with him for a long time, has died.

Ive been trying for what it seems like FOREVER to get my guinea pig to like me. I really don't know what to do. I'm out of ideas. If i can barely pet him...how is he supposed to like me?

Any ideas to get my guinea pig used to me? And to get my guinea pig to like me?
 
Just time really. :)

Lots of cuddle time, stroking and talking to him.

Pick him up gently, try not to swoop on him from above.


It'll happen I promise and it will be so worth it. :)
 
I got my Radish to like me by lots of patient hand feeding (green pepper worked for her) and cuddles and after a while she started to put her front foot up on my finger to ask to have her chin tickled which she now loves. Best tip is just to be patient, gentle and no sudden moves. :)
 
yeah try hand feeding and talking for a bit so he gets used to your voice O0
 
Patience is a virtue with pigs they take a long time to become trusting try not to keep picking him up all the time and try nto to have tv too loud etc if they are in the house as that may make him more jumpy in the short term O0

I am sure you will form a good relationship with your pig soon >:D
