Hi, I've had a good look and there isn't any puss or smell coming from her ear. It just looked a little dry. Can anyone recommend a good ear drop to use please? Many thanks. X

Oh okay thanks. They are both indoor pigs so don't see how it could be mites

Mites mainly come from bedding and hay so indoor pigs are at risk too :)
Definitely a vets job!

I popped to the pet shop and picked up some mite treatment. She's not done it this morning so I think it was something just bothering her like hay, thanks for your help help x

The treatments from pet shops are not strong enough to cure a problem. You need a vet prescribed treatment for mites and definitely a vet for any potential infection.
Hopefully it was just something bothering her and not medically related, but getting vet checked is the only way to know.

Please DON'T treat with over the counter mites treatment.

Firstly the ear has not been professionally examined by a vet. Neither you nor I have the skill or equipment to examine inside a piggy's ear. We do not know that mites is the cause of the problem. There could be some other problem that is the reason for the scratching and shaking of the head.

Secondly there are different types of mites and treatment differs. None of the over the counter treatments is strong enough (for very good reason) to treat a full blown problem.

Please take your piggy to see a vet and get the ear properly examined.

I've treated them both, both currently running round my living room I'll keep an eye on her but so far hasn't bothered with her ear

I'm glad she has stopped doing it, but if you see it again, please have her seen by a vet. Ear infections can spread to/affect the brain as they are so close to it. Petshop treatments are often too weak to fully treat a case of mites, they need to be weak in order to be sold over the counter.
