I'm that person who's already thinking about Christmas!

We have just opened registrations for Santas for 2016 - it has now become an entire year round project, with over 300 presents sent last year in 5 different countries. I've recruited a volunteer admin team and it's just getting bigger every time!
I had a number of people sign up from TGPF and I intend to keep that option open, however as a lot of people dropped in and out of the forum, I noticed a lot of missing gifts through this registration point. So of course people can sign up but I'll take an email address to send your information to :)
Here's the general calendar of events and the Santa registration calendar.
Got any questions? Ask away!

Already registered on the first day :yahoo:

Can I ask a question please?
What actually is it, and how does it work?
This is my first year on here, and although I understand the concept of Secret Santa in general, I would love to know more specifically how this one works.
Thanks.

This Project involves giving a gift to piggies in rescue who have long term needs or medical issues that mean they cannot be rehomed. You are matched with some piggies and then you make up a box of goodies to send to them! It's a lovely thing and spreads lots of love, as well as taking some of the financial pressure off the rescues.

@PottyForPiggies We will make a banner for this thread at the top of the main forum menu.. x

I had a number of issues with people who signed up solely through TGPF - around 60% of the gifts were never sent, so as a precaution we're taking extra contact information :)

Its a great idea and very satisfying (I think this will be my 3rd or 4th year). It started my close relationship with TEAS which has ended with me becoming a trustee of TEAS.

Can't understand it. I participated last year (first time but not last!) and I was going nuts because my present was kept in customs for like a month... Can't even think about leaving a piggy without a present on purpose!

i have always sent via TGPF, i dont really use emails etc much, i must admit i was a bit disappointed i never had any confirmation of my present being received on here (i dont do facebook, twitter, etc etc) i know i sent quite close to christmas, but it should have got there in time & the courier i used confirmed delivery, but there didnt seem to be many uk photo's posted last year for us to all ogle over & recognise if our presents had been received.

i do remember you had internet issues last year which must have been a nightmare so i just put it down to that, i didnt realise people hadn't sent gifts after signing up - thats just tight & must have been embarrassing & given you a real headache to sort.

:rtm:come on peeps don't sign up if you dont intend giving a gift!

... me too ! I appreciate rescues are busy but, this should be a 2 way process . All people sending Secret Santas want is acknowledgement - a small sign that their efforts are appreciated .

This sounds lovely and I'm thinking of taking part but I'm a bit confused on how it works. So you email the creator of this saying you want to take part then they send you a picture of rescue pig(s?)
Then where do you send your present to and how much do you send? like a shoebox?
Please help because I would love to participate, Thankyou!:)

If you email them - or contact them , they will answer any of your queries.

The SS project will allocate you a guinea pig in a rescue and then you send the Guinea Pig a Xmas parcel. It's up to you how much you spend . Some people send gifts for the human carers too but, again , that's up to you .

As a recipient of secret Santa parcels for the rescue piggies under my care, l can't tell you how much this is appreciated. Last year l got so many helpful and thoughtful gifts for the piggies l was so touched. So thankyou to everyone registering in advance. The piggies are forever grateful x

I am one of the ones that didn't send last year.Crashed and burned with huge financial and mental health problems and still feel guilty about not sending.Sixty percent is really high.

I apologise for not doing more to calm people's nerves. The project was still a single person mission last year and I had over 300 presents to organise, get images for and coordinate. I had a very unpleasant santa who intentionally signed up so that he could back out, followed by sending abusive messages to me, plus Internet issues for 10 days. It was incredibly difficult and I burnt out quickly, spending my entire evenings just sleeping because I had nothing left in me. When 2015's project was over it was straight on to planning for 2016 - interviewing for helpers, contacting rescues and getting feedback from everyone. I have had no break this year at all, it's officially year round.
This year I am head of a team of 6, all fabulous ladies all over the world who are helping keep things running. I am still burning out - an appeal on Facebook was seen by 39,000 people and shared 373 times! Then I spent 8 hours in one day answering messages as they came in quicker than we could clear them! - but nowhere near as much.
Please remember to have patience as I'm one woman, with a full time job and a home business PLUS the project. As much as I want to be switched on to everything there are sadly little bits I have missed and something has always given way. I am trying though! Maybe one day we'll make a newspaper or something :-)

You did a fantastic job last year as every year you have done it.Can't remember if I registered officially or not. Please check for me when you have the time.

I was quite worried because of the piggies not getting my present! Plus I was afraid Lauren thought I just didn't send it or something and becuase of that she wouldn't let me participate another year, but I kept in touch with her, letting her know that the package was stuck (thank god I sent it with tracking! although it was no cheap let me tell you xD) and there was no problem at all!
