Hi everyone, does anyone know what might cause a guinea pig to suddenly convulse? My boy is around 4.5 years old. He’s eating well, maintaining weight, drinking normally, and his droppings look fine. He also gets enough vitamin C. But today, for the first time, he suddenly had a forward convulsion (as shown in the video). This was caught on our home camera. Any ideas would be really appreciated, thank you!

I’m sorry to hear that.

Video cannot be hosted directly on the forum. You will need to upload to YouTube first and then post a link to it here.

It would be best for you to have a vet check him out, and also show them the video. There can be many causes of convulsions

I’ve added our guide below about neurological issues which may be helpful

I hope he is ok
