Hello,

My mum has two 11 month old girls, one of whom was pregnant when we bought her and so we also have an 8 month old boy, we had him neutered so he could go in with them

we tried to get them together for the first time a few days ago. It was a bit stressful for the girls especially as they needed a bath after too!

during her bath one of the girls had a seizure and then proceeded to have 5 more that night.

she had another little one in the morning when mum got her out again

we took her to the vet that morning and she had another after having an injection and had another one when she got home.

we havent seen any others but have just left her quiet and in her cage since.

I think it may be epilepsy brought on my stress - does anyone else have any experience of this?

Sarah

If she is stressed then it may be the start of mites. Does she have any fur loss, dry/flakey skin, or sore patches. This can cause a piggie to have seizures if she is very irratated/uncomfortable. If it's the start of the mites the vet will have to treat her. Do you know what the vet injected her with?

Absolutely no sign of mites at all

the injection was of an antibiotic and a steroid to reduce any possible swelling of the brain.

I'm sorry that I can't offer you anymore info. I hope that your piggie is better soon :)

Only time I've seen a piggy fit was when a rescue piggy had a horrible case of mites and fungal. Her skin was noticably scaly and itchy, though.
