Sooo about a week ago , I had posted about my guinea pigs eye being gunky, etc. Unfortunately couldn't get him into a vet until the following day (Vets near me and even a hour away were pretty booked.)

But In that short time , he started to sneeze alot. (Not every second, but more than a norm sneeze). His bedding at that time was dust free carefresh white flush bedding.

So he got into the vets office (by that day his eye was actually clear , just a bit squinty). So I didn't have much of that to go by. She checked him over, and said that there is no sign of concern as far as URI or a cold. Did that eye drop stuff , and said his eye looks irritated , more than likely from a dusty bedding or possibly something else before I got him. She said that his sneezing doesn't sound alarming. But overall looked good , just with eye irritation.

It's going on a week , and his eye looks amazing. (Purchased this really good eye drops for all animals , it was Vet approved).

But.. his sneezing still sounds the same if not more
His sneezing is really the only concern atm because everything else checks out fine.

(Note , I changed his bedding to fleece on Saturday, everything was wicked, and washed with a tiny bit of vinegar , and tide no dye and scent free , animal safe laundry soap. )

His pee is normal (I put white fleece down to check the color).
His pooping is more than normal
He eats everything I give him (His pellets, Veggies , and unlimited hay).
He is drinking plenty
He is a really happy piggy, he popcorns alot, purrs when held and even in his cage, he runs a marathon in his cage. And in his pen.

I called the vet , and waiting to hear back if they can slide him in today or tomorrow. But thought I ask while I wait.

Have you eliminated all irritants from the room he is in? If yes and he is still sneezing then get him to a vet. Does he have crusty eyes/nose or any other symptoms?

PS they don't get colds but URIs.

What could be some common irritations in a bedroom? And no, his eye is not crusty anymore. His nose is not crusty , and his nose rarely has any sign of wetness (couple times when he sneezed he had a couple white clear tiny tiny bubbles on his whiskers. His cage goes up about 7 inches, including the length i have the fleece going over the cage (I did that incase of any drafts since he's close to the floor). Not that it's cold, we actually always have it warm in our house , because we hate the cold

Great that the eye has cleared up and has not turned out to be a major hay poke or something scratchy lodged firmly under the lid!

Have you checked the room for the most common irritants and also checked your hay/tried a different hay brand? Dust free brands can be very different quality. That said, my own locally sourced meadow hay (via an independent pet shop) is not dust extracted but I only ever had one piggy who was sensitive to it in about 7 years...
Here is more information on these areas:
Irritants to Avoid Around Guinea Pigs
A Comprehensive Hay Guide for Guinea Pigs (incl. providers in several countries)

Many commercially bred chain pet shop guinea pigs come from a very sanitised background unprepared into a complex home environment. Once a URI has been excluded, then the long search for potential irritants starts. some piggies are a lot more sensitive. True allergies are thankfully very rare but a few piggies can be extremely sensitive to hay dust.

Sorry for delayed response, I was using kaytee hay, but got Oxbow instead . He got into the vets , and got purscribed a antibiotic and a pain relief. He finished his meds Sunday. He sounds better , but still sneezes , but minor compared. Doc said it was a cold , said she couldn't find any signs of URI (thankfully).

I’m glad piggy seems better.
guinea pigs don’t catch cold viruses though, they only get upper respiratory infections (bacterial infections). Hence the antibiotics to kill the bacteria so it’s a rather odd comment for your vet to make.
