Guinea pig Spur.

I noticed a little while ago Zee was getting a spur on her front paw and I was wandering is there anything I can do for her, It's quite large are they common or is it something I am doing because my last piggie Kimmie also had one as well.

Spurs are very common; about one third of piggies develop them.

If you cut them back yourself, please remember not to cut too close to live skin.

I'm sure your vet or nurse could do it and show you how for the future.

one of my sows had a spur and i cut it off myself , it was quite nervewracking but i did it and it was fine , the last bit dropped off by itself and hasnt come back , i hope it doesn't either, fingers crossed

One of my girls has a small spur on her tow. I have been advised to leave it alone unless it bleeds and causes discomfort which it doesn't and it's only small.
