Guinea pig squeaks while urinating

He has to go back next Tuesday because they wanna see him. Trouble is my anxiety and waiting so long. I just wish there was a quick fix for my little man. My anxiety kicks in and I'm over thinking and worried incase there's something serious wrong with him and stuff. My mum keeps reassuring me that if it was anything serious he would of lost a lot of weight and not be eating and stuff. I just can't help myself with worrying.
Please don't worry. He sounds as if he will be just fine. It's one of those annoying problems that can take time to settle, but is unlikely to cause serious issues for him

Is occasional bleeding normal when having a bad flare up?

I really appreciate all the support and advice you have offered me

Yes they can bleed during a flare up. This means that there is a lot of inflammation. It might be worth getting am x-ray done as he might have gravel in his bladder that is passing intermittently. But see what the vet says

He has had an x Ray recently. Everything was clear

Sorry l missed that! Good news

Depending on how he goes between now and his vet visit on Tuesday I'm considering asking them to do a urine culture. From what I've read though all of his symptoms do point towards IC.

It will not hurt to do one, but they are expensive and often inconclusive in my experience. It does sound like IC

Yeah I don't wanna stress him more than he needs. His urine dip test a few months ago was fine aswell as the x Ray so i don't feel like a urine culture would show much. Anti biotic don't seem to do much either for him

So Milo has been squeaking every day again yesterday was particularly bad. I've increased him to a capsule and a half of cystease a day the past few days.

Has anyone any more tips? Part of me feels like this flare up has been caused by my other pig constantly trying to dominate him. They have never bit each other though its just him trying to mount milo all the time and stuff and I think it's pissing him off. There's been no other changes. He has been having Bell pepper daily and some cucumber. Water is filtered and he's on pain relief. He also has a check up tomorrow at the vet

My vet prescribes a medicine called Gabapentin alongside the metacam and cystease. It's what they call a co-analgesic. It's very effective in settling bladder pain. Several of my pigs take it and one of my rabbits (for dental pain) and it seems very safe and have had no side effects

Thank you i will write that down and ask my vet
