Hello,

Just before I begin with my question, I do live in the US where it is currently very humid and hot.
Anyways, I have two very pretty piggies that are very active, love to eat, and love to talk. However one of my piggies has been sneezing ever since I got her. I took them both to the vet asap and I was prescribed baytril and they took it for ten days and I realized no change so I asked my doctor for another batch and it seems like ruby (the one who sneezes the most) hasn’t stopped sneezing. Is there any suggestions? Maybe it’s the hay? Could the hay be making her sneeze.

She is on paper bedding. I have a bedding portion and a fleece portion. However I just took her for boarding for a week and the woman didn’t use bedding and said she was still sneezing.

I had a board exactly like that! Sneezing no other symptoms. I changed hay a few times. Didn't help. I went to fleece bedding and it helped so much! Yes has a very sensitive nose. Dust gets him bad too. Or if he gets a whiff of fabric softener on my clothes too. I give him drops when I change the cage out once a week. They are home pet nose relief. They were recommended on this site. I went through three rounds of antibiotics at the beginning with no change. I think it was allergies. Hope this helps! Good luck and hope your piggies are well 😊.

Interesting. I assumed it was allergies but I couldn’t guess to what. Do you suggest I have her just be on only fleece. Because another weird thing I have her with an older piggie and she has nooooo symptoms no sneezing nothing.

My other boar did not either. Fleece helped me. He does sneeze the day I change the cages still. I brush the fleece before washing it and I think it stirs up dust.

If she is sneezing and also clicking when she breaths then she needs to see a vet ASAP. Clicking is a sign of a URI which can go down hill rapidly.
