Hello everyone,
I was wondering if anybody had any ideas on stimulating activities for the pigs? I fear they are getting bored since I got them in the early stages of the pandemic and they aren't really used to me being out for long periods of time. They get floor time a few times a week and interaction (petting, being hand fed, etc.) daily. Any advice is very much appreciated. Thank you!

Hi!

Have a look at our enrichment guide, which has got plenty of ideas for all senses and some videos, too.

I myself am a big playpen advocate, as I find that my pigs have the most fun when they're out in a large space with each other to run around with toys and such; if they're not used to being out much, it's definitely something I'd slowly introduce to them more and more, as it can be a big part of easing their boredom. As far as in the cage goes, toys on toys. Literally from making my own little cardboard houses full of treats, like Merab's Slave said, or buying fun tunnels and things for them to interact with. It's just about finding what each pig specifically has fun doing, and going with it!
A paper bag full of hay gives hours of fun.
Tunnels to run through.
Piles of hay to burrow in.
A cardboard box with doors cut into it and filled with hay.
