Hi guys, I'm running out of storage ideas for the Guinea pigs. I really badly need to re-organise my guinea pig room. All of a sudden, I have lots of clutter. For example I now order from Haybox and always have a big box or two that I've been storing in the guinea pig room. I also have lots of extra fleeces and vet beds, hideys, carriers, dried food bags, readigrass, emergency hay bags 😅, medication, plus lots of C & C grids that I haven't been using. I've also had to move lots of stuff out of the guinea pigs cage in order catch them to give them their medication so that's now in the middle of the room making it harder to access their cage without falling over 😅😅.

A few weeks ago everything had it's place and the room was relatively tidy and now by just by having a few extra items it seems impossible.

Due to me receiving the wrong grids around 3 months ago (relatively clear ones instead of the normal C&C grids), the company have said they'd deliver a new set of grids for free in a few weeks and that I can keep the old ones so I'm going to have lots of extra grids available.

As well as this I also have 2 new sow guinea pigs so I was thinking I could create a second/third story similar to the picture I have attached to a) give the Guinea pigs a bit more space if needed.and B) to mainly create storage for example I could divide the third story in half allowing me to store fresh hay, puppy pads, hideys, pellets etc at the top. Whilst still leaving room for the guinea pigs to have a bit of extra space if needed. I know you can't garentee every pig would use the third story but even if 3/7 it would be worth it and potentially prevent arguments. The YouTuber who created the cage her pigs use it quite alot I think. I also like the idea of a third story mainly for storage but also as it would allow me to clean the cage easier compared to that of a second story hitting my head!

Do you guys have any tips on the best way/place to store guinea pig supplies? :) I'm looking for inspiration to sort my room out! Perhaps you have some pictures also of your organisation! 🥰❤️
Many thanks

(This is the YouTubers cage with the third story, I was thinking I could use this layout to have extra space for the guinea pigs but also mainly for storage if divided in half)

How many piggies do you have in your other herd? You could potentially build a cage so they’re all on one floor, and build it on a stand so you can use the underneath for storage. How much space do you have to work with?

Hi, I currently have a herd of 5, 4 sows and one nuetered boar and I will be bonding them shortly with my two new younger sows so I will hopefully have one herd of 7 in a few days. I currently have a cage just slightly larger than a 6 x 6 C&C. I really like the fact that it's on the floor which means I can physically go into the cage to clean them out and catch them if necessary. Here is the cage when it's all clean and tidy. I have lots of C&C grids currently available which I could use to create a higher story for storage. Thank you for your advice :)IMG_20210103_173343_464.webp

I love those clear grids.

I have my herd of 5 up on ikea tables. I keep rabbits underneath! I do have extra tables for storage and hope to fit in a set of free standing wooden shelves at some point.
