Hello,

I have a 2.5yr old female guinea pig named Towhee. She had a UTI a few months back, but we cleared that up with antibiotics. For a while after, I noticed she would sometimes make small squeaking noises when pooping, but never anything loud and not very often. However, last night, I noticed that she was really straining and squeaking very loudly whenever she pooped and her poop looked pretty small and dry. Today, her poop looks better, but she is still straining. Unfortunately, the earliest vet appointment I could get is Wednesday (today is Saturday) and I am very worried about her. She is eating, drinking, peeing and pooping. Is there anything I can do before the vet appointment to make her more comfortable? Do you think that she will be okay until Wednesday? I feel horrible listening to her squeaking :(

Thanks in advance for your help!

I would ask for an urgent appointment as she is obviously in pain. Ask to speak to the vet if the receptionist won't fit you in. Most vets have urgent slots available on the day

I agree - ask for an urgent appointment.
My vets have always been able to provide one when necessary.
Keep us posted on how things go

I agree that if she is straining and squeaking she is in pain and needs an earlier appointment. I would definitely try to speak to the vets to ask for an earlier appointment. Good luck.
