Hello all,

I'm Rachel, new to this site and hoping I'm doing all these things the right way. Please excuse any of my errors and just stick with me!

So, I'm Rachel and Guinea-Mam to 3 beautiful rescue boars. Following their arrival I have been inspired to create my own business, although there are many elements to my new business, I would appreciate your help with one aspect... A Subscription Box.

I would love to know how many of you would be interested in a subscription service for exciting new brands / seasonal items? And what you would want from a subscription box?

If you would prefer to email me directly regarding any ideas or opinions you may have please send them to [email protected]

Thanks in advance all!

I'm gonna sound dumb but what is a subscription box lol?

haha not at all!
A subscription box is a box that comes either monthly or quarterly with a set amount of items.
So these may be New Guinea pig treats/food on the market, new brands of hay (sample size), toys and chews suitable for guinea pigs, I am in talks for the first box to contain a very special bespoke piece for my first customers which could be used for photos and special events. I am also in talks for the box to contain herb and forage mixes which will be something I will aim to provide often in the package. The box will also occasionally contain vouchers or money off coupons for guinea pig related products or websites.

I hope this has been of some help!

Ah, I feel silly now, I totally get what you mean. You get them for dogs and cats etc.

I would maybe give one a try for under £10 (if you could cancel the subscription at any time) but it would depend what sort of things were in it as mine don't really play with shop bought toys, home made one seem more popular and I don't feed any commercial treats just fresh fruit and veg but if they were healthy, no high sugar stuff then I'm sure the piggies would love it.

I was wondering what a subscription box was too! Glad you explained it! Not sure I could afford it but maybe interested if it was less than £5

Fab!
I will definitely look into the pricing and I am with you 100% on the commercial treats Eileen's Mum. My aim is to try and source small businesses that are ethical and able to supply high quality natural food for our piggies at a low reasonable cost.

I am also with you on the subscription being cancelable.

Thank you so much for your input!

If anyone has had experience with the similar type for dogs - would there be anything particular that you would like in the subscription? Something you may think is missing from any current SB's?

If it was unique with unusual stuff in and healthy, natural & grain free treats I'd be in! I don't ask for much right? :))

I think it would be good to have a few different types of boxes, like 3 sizes ranging in price for more options?

I've seen them before on Etsy but although it looks like amazing stuff, all unique it was quite pricey and I couldn't afford it.

I've seen subscription boxes for rabbits where instead of bubble wrap or packing peanuts they just use hay to pad the items - so it's eco friendly and the piggies can munch on it
