are there any websites that offer free postage, i have found a brilliant site which has lots of toys on it, i put a few in my basket totalling bout a fiver then i find the postage is the same...a fiver! ARG, and i dont think many pet shops will be open tommorrow?

wish i could look on their site, but they are doing it all up, i just dont wanna waste a journey into town for no reason yknow....usually what is their stuff like?

Online shop people - looking for a grooming brush (suitable for an abby) some toys preferably balls or chewy things, and maybe a guinea pig plastic house for them to go in? I dont want to spend loads but for all those three i can spend about £10-15?

p@h have some natural treats in which are good (sorry for hjacking the thread) :-X

id recommend zooplus but again they charge postage. me and my friends have ordered a few bits from there in the past

I might just pop into town tommorrow, theres a few pet places there, just hope they are open tommorrow ::)

I love zooplus personally! But yes the p&p can give you a shock :o

exactly and the bits I would like weigh nothing :( i mean i could try ebay, I'm in no rush

I know how you feel about postage which is why i keep mine as low as possible but to be fair to us online shops it is very expensive..
I charge £3.95 or £4.95 depending on how much you order but it normally costs me a minimum of £6.50 via royal mail and courier is £7.48 min so I lose a lot of money on postage and of course paypal takes a chunk too. Remember the packaging costs too (boxes are expensive things) and the cost of transporting it to the post office or colllection depot!

most websites who offer free or cheap postage often have small print somewhere saying that postage is included in the price of the product! or charge handling fees !

All i can say is if you only want few bits which weighs less than a kilo then you are more than welcome to email me and i will offer a cheaper alternative.
If I get an order which is light i normally add a few extra treats or toys to make up for it. (I'm sure there are people on this forum who will confirm that!)

I sell seeds to grow for guinea and the cost of postage is included in the price. There are no hidden handling charges or postal charges at the end.

Gorgeous Guineas

SPH Supplies

Dust Free Hay are the ones I use the most :) SPH Supplies and Gorgeous Guineas do a great deal to help rescues though they don't adfvertise the fact themselves ::)

Yes sorry karen i wasnt saying it was all online companies just some- generally bigger ones.

Its easy to do that if you only stock light things or only several items which weigh about the same.

For example if I charge £1 more for say a 10kg sack of food and that is all the customer orders ill end up paying the other £6.50 to make up the cost.
If i add say £5 and then someone orders several other items with the postage included they may end up paying £8 or £9

Also if you add postage into products and then notcharge P+P at the end but some people see it as being 10-20p etc more expensive than other shops/companies its very hard to make the right balance.

I wish there was a cheaper alternative I really do. but its just impossible to tell when you have lots of products- thats why if some one orders a small light order I always add extras to cover the cost.. if they pay £4.99 and it costs £7.50 I pay the difference- thats the fairest i can be.
