Pigglywink's Rachel
Well, I had quite the treat tonight. The girls were out for their normal floor time, and they've evidently sorted out their pecking order to their satisfaction and have decided to be the best of friends.
First, I had the treat of watching the girls laying down in their hay bin (bottom half of a cat carrier with hay piled into the end). Caramel was laying with her head towards the hay, and Dite was curled up next to her, with her head resting on Caramel's flank. x)
After a little lazing, they then decided it was time for some play, and I was treated to the fun sight of watching a game of guinea pig tag.
The game began in the first of two shoeboxes provided as hidey holes. The purpose of the game was then for the first pig to run from the first box, through the second box, through the chube into the fleece sack and out the side of the sack, around the hay bin, figure eight over to the second box, then back to the first box (starting point). They would then switch and the second pig would go first and repeat the same pattern. What I found most amazing was how they stuck to the pattern, although occasionally one or the other would zig when they should have zagged, which would necessitate a conference in the middle area to discuss what had gone wrong, and a return to the starting point to try it again.
They did this for about ten minutes, before deciding they were done and wanted to go back into their cage, which involved wheeking loudly, and, when that failed to get the desired result, Caramel standing in their cuddle cup while Dite attempted to get over the bars.

After a wonderful yet tiring floor time, I then got to watch both girls curled up on their sides, nose to nose, evidently discussing very important piggie business before settling down for a nap.
All in all, a truly wonderful thing to see, and I just felt I had to share the story.
