My 2 year old piggy has been having regular dentals for over a year, her two lower back cheek teeth overgrow and could potentially trap her tongue. She goes to the vets every 4-6 weeks for dental with general anaesthetic and we are prepared to do this for the rest of her life. She never gets to the stage where she loses weight, drools or has other problems. She has a good life between dentals along with her sister. Recently the vet suggested she could have these two teeth removed so she doesn't need to go the vets but that she may not then reach her full lifespan. When I asked him before if she could die having this done he replied yes. SO, why would I put her through an operation that she could die from or maybe soon afterwards and that may shorten her lifespan. I do not want her to go through this for our convenience. I want what's best for her, would a one off operation be better than these regular general anaesthetics? Can a piggy recover from having two teeth extracted? Can anyone advise? The vet is an exotic specialist.

we are in Kent but close to London,Surrey, and would go anywhere for these piggies
