I noticed that someone has been looking for a Guinea Pig Train in Kent but hasn't been able to get any help. That's miles too far away for me but I'm sure there are forum members all round the country who would like to help in their particular region.

Why don't we have a Guinea Pig Train Register where members can put down the areas where they would be able to help.

I'll start the ball rolling by saying that I live in Stockton-on Tees & would be willing to help in the surrounding area say from Leeds in the South to Newcastle upon Tyne in the North & from Scarborough in the East to Richmond, North Yorks in the West. These are just rough but could probably go a little further.

Let's get it rolling so we can help more piggies get to the forever homes or medical treatment they deserve.

Excellent Idea, I would be happy to help out in Norfolk and surrounding counties.

Good idea Stewybus. Rach and I would be able to do certain bits of West Midlands, Staffordshire etc...

Thanks for getting the ball rolling, we've now got 3 areas covered. Anyone else like to register?

I will happily help out in cambridgshire, just going into northhampton. I also work, just in hertfordshire so could do there if it wasn't to much of a drive.

I'm based in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire. I'm pretty central to a few areas. I am close to the Wirral, Cheshire, North Wales. I can also get up to the bottom of Lancashire and down to staffordshire.

During term time I am based in Preston,Lancashire so can cover some area round there.

That's great, we're starting to get areas linked now so please keep them coming.

Hiya, we do have a Piggy Train Transport group to deal with rescue situations, you may be thinking of setting up a private one to do to peoples private homes. The Piggy Bank Uk group has the short application form in the Rescue section of this forum. I have just bumped this up as we have a calm time at the moment! Friendly bunch of people helping piggies from sometimes pretty dire situations to get to their rescue spaces. Don't necessarily have to drive as the receiving rescues sometimes need help with health checks, syringe feeding and shampooing the new piggies. Sue G will probably remember she got roped into helping with holding during shampooing, I believe she held Terfel who is now with Wiebke as he went to Tracy in Rugby. So we welcome new helpers!

I'm in the same area as you Stewy but I do have facilities for pigs to stay overnight away from my own and for hooomans to potentially crash out as well as friends up in Ashington so potentially can cover up in that area too :-) I am not a piggy bank member, my own help was not deemed suitable because of where my rabbit came from but I am up for helping potentially :-)

That's great Beks, there's always a possibility that one of us may not be available so at least there's a better chance i our area with 2 forum members.

I'll also look at the Crawley Guinea Pig Rescue Piggy Train Transport group.

I can't drive so I'd be no help with transport but I'd be more than happy to look after any piggies en route somewhere, overnight/a few days or even just for a few hours. I'm in central Banbury :)

EDIT: just read crawley's post. I'd be happy to do shampoos/cleaning/health checks or medication help too :)

Indeed I did hold Terfel for his shampoo - little did we know he'd be ending up with Wiebke.

Fab idea :)

I will be happy to cover area around me. I'm in Milton Keynes so could cover north bit of Buckinghamshire all the way up to Northampton shire and also part of Hertfordshire. I work across Bedfordshire so can cover all that area too.
